APC has been blessed with the opportunity to serve the City of Pickering and surrounding areas since 1993. Though our location has changed over the years, we are thankful that God’s presence has always been a hallmark of our worship services.
Starting out in a basement apartment, the YMCA, and industrial units, then on to our current property; we have learned that no matter the style, size or beauty of the building, where two or more people are gathered in Jesus’ name, He is there.
Journey with us as we take a look at our history:
Beginning as a weekly Bible study in the Castro’s basement apartment, we experienced a high level of growth with the number of attendees doubling in just two short months.
In December 1993, the YMCA became our new meeting place. While meeting at the YMCA, we were able to add a youth night providing an opportunity for recreation and spiritual growth for teens.
On March 3, 1995, APC was granted membership in the United Pentecostal Church International (UPCI) and with God’s help, we were able to train many qualified staff and assistants.
As the church continued to grow, we eventually introduced a Sunday evening service while the midweek Bible Studies continued.
1755 Plummer Street, Unit 21
By August 1995, our congregation had significantly increased, necessitating a move to 1755 Plummer Street. During the next three years, phenomenal growth continued and we had to consider another move.

When Suites 8 and 9 on the other side of the property became available, we were able to double our space and God continued to bless our outreach efforts with more and more people attending our services.
755 Oklahoma Drive
In June 2001, through the hard work and sacrifice of our members, APC was blessed by God to purchase our very own church building and present-day worship facility in the waterfront community of West Shore located in the Frenchman’s Bay area of Pickering.
Since our inception, we have consistently worked hard to enhance the growth of the church and serve our surrounding communities through programs such as neighbourhood evangelism , individual and group Bible studies , collecting and distributing food supplies to families in need, and visitations to hospitals, seniors’ residences and prisons.
1920 Notion Road
APC is committed to increasing our presence in our community and to be a voice in the Durham Region and Greater Toronto Area.
As the Lord continues to bless us, we are eagerly anticipating the expansion of our ministry at the site of our future worship facility currently being developed at 1920 Notion Road.
This new site will include facilities to provide a host of community services including youth recreation, housing for seniors and the disabled, and educational facilities for a Christian school and Bible College.
The members of APC’s staff and volunteers are a people of vision and initiative. And with the Lord directing us, we are prepared and ready to advance the cause of Christ and to serve our community in excellence.
