Shine Banquet: Youth Sneaker Ball

You are invited to join youth across the Greater Toronto Area on Saturday, August 26, to attend the 2023 Shine Youth Sneaker Ball hosted by the Apostolic Pentecostal Church of Pickering.

We are gathering for an evening of fun to celebrate and promote academic excellence and career development. The event features raffle prizes, musical selections, spoken word performances, tributes to 2023 grads, and a dinner keynote speaker, while we recognize inspiring heroes and heroines in our community achieving their academic and career pursuits. Proceeds will go towards the 2023 Shine Scholarship Fund.

Date: Saturday, August 26, 2023.

Venue: Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex (1867 Valley Farm Road, Pickering, ON).

Time: Doors open at 6:00 PM and the program begins at 7:00 PM.

Ages: This event is open to youth and adults – all ages are welcome!

Attire: Shine the night away in a fancy gown or suit and trade your dress shoes for your favourite pair of sneakers!

Sponsorship: Consider sponsoring a single youth admission ticket for $35.00 or a table of 8 youth for $280.00. With your generous contribution, youth with financial need will be able to attend this fundraiser event for free.

Vendors: Vendor admission is offered at $100.00 per vendor to reserve a booth to promote your goods and services. Contact outreach@apcpickering.com first to complete the vendor agreement.

2023 Shine Scholarship Fund: Proceeds from the Shine Sneaker Ball will go towards the 2023 Shine Scholarship Fund. The purpose of the scholarship fund is to support aspiring youth in our church communities with financial needs by alleviating the financial burden of higher education. Applicants should review the eligibility criteria and apply online by Sunday, August 27, 2023 at 11:59 PM.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary academic program in Canada, or be a 2023 graduate from a post-secondary program in Canada,
• Canadian citizen or permanent resident
• Reside in the Greater Toronto Area
• Member of a Christian church organization in Canada
• Demonstrate financial need and commitment to church community
